What you will see
San José
The capital and largest city of Costa Rica. In the mid-19th century, San Jose transformed from a modest and quiet town into a truly vibrant city. This is where the airport we fly into and out of is located. The first day is for arrivals, checking into the hotel, and organizational matters. On the second day, we set off on our trip from San Jose. We will visit the city, its attractions, and historical sites on the last day.
Limón Province
The Caribbean province. A natural paradise created by a combination of dense jungle, impressive mountains, and idyllic beaches. This is the best place to learn about the Afro-Caribbean culture that so strongly defines these parts of Costa Rica. A large part of the Afro-Caribbean population was forcibly brought to Limon through the slave trade. For many, this influenced the new lifestyle for which the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is famous today. The road to Limon from San Jose crosses the majestic Braulio Carrillo National Park, where a beautiful journey to the Caribbean lowlands begins.
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca
This seaside town with a Caribbean vibe is located in the southeastern part of Costa Rica and is one of those fantastic places where you end up staying longer than you intended. This is where we will set off for the Cahuita Nature Reserve.
Accommodation under palm trees
There will be plenty of opportunities to sleep on wild beaches. We will choose charming places that will remain in your memory forever. We will wake up to the sound of the ocean, the sea, and rivers. Getting to these places will be quite an attraction 🙂
La Fortuna
The town's fame stems from its close proximity to one of the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica. The Arenal Volcano is a unique landmark and a natural wonder. The 70-meter La Fortuna waterfall is located 5 km from the town.
Masaya Volcano
It is one of seven active volcanoes in the country, despite the low height of its dome (less than 600 m). Here you can see liquid lava inside the crater. The last significant volcanic activity was in 2016.
Granada
A beautiful colonial city in Nicaragua and one of the most famous cities in the country. Here you will find decadent chocolate (cocoa) drinks, lots of delicious Nicaraguan dishes, colorful streets, an authentic local market, many magnificent churches, and of course, lively city squares and green parks. Not to mention the huge Lake Nicaragua and the nearby Apoyo Lagoon.
San Juan del Sur
A port on the Pacific coast in southwestern Nicaragua. It is probably the best base for surfers to explore the surrounding beaches. A trendy, colorful beach town with lots of clubs like Sunday Fun Day, where hundreds of tourists from all over Nicaragua flock every Sunday.
Blanca, Zapotillal, Avellana, Conchal, and Corozalito beaches
Beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula. Here, we will see the full diversity of Costa Rica's Pacific coast beaches. Some of these beaches are turtle nesting sites. At night, we will try to watch the female turtles lay their eggs.
Bahia de Paquera
A small village located in a bay on the Nicoya Gulf in Costa Rica. From Bahia de Paquera, you can take a nighttime kayak trip on the bay, where bioluminescence occurs. It is one of the few places in the world where you can admire this phenomenon in the dark of night.
Ometepe Island
Ometepe is a captivating volcanic island located on Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America. With its lush forests, sandy beaches, and picturesque landscapes, Ometepe offers visitors a paradise-like setting. The island attracts enthusiasts of active recreation.
Wildlife Sanctuary - nature reserve
It provides shelter and protection for wild animals that have fallen victim to human activities such as hunting, removal from their habitats, and deforestation. Here, we will see many species of animals, beautiful wild parrots flying around, and sloths in the trees.
Samara
One of our favorite beaches in the Guanacaste region. We relax on the beach. Those who wish to can take surfing lessons.
San José
Return, hotel, shopping, dinner, flight home...
