What you will see
Bishkek
We will meet in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. We will pick you up from the airport and get to know each other better. The next day, we will pick up the cars and set off on our adventure.
National Park – Ala Archa
Not far from the capital of Kyrgyzstan lies the Ala-Archa Valley (Ala Archa), a wonderful land located in the Kyrgyz Mountains, part of the heavenly Tien Shan. It is a true paradise for lovers of mountain hiking and beautiful landscapes.
Lake Issyk Kul
In Kyrgyz, Issyk-Kul means “warm lake,” and due to its salinity, the lake does not freeze. The reservoir is almost 112 miles long and 43 miles wide. It is surrounded on two sides by snow-capped peaks. The contrast between the turquoise water and the majestic mountains is breathtaking. It is the second largest mountain lake in the world (Titicaca takes first place on the podium).
Przewalsk - Karakol
On the southeastern edge of Lake Issyk Kul, a few kilometers from its shore, lies the city of Karakol. Karakol was renamed Przewalsk twice. In the 19th century, Nikolai Przewalski, the discoverer of the wild horse (Przewalski's horse), stayed here and died here. He asked to be buried by the lake. The city is an excellent base for trips to the surrounding mountains, valleys, and lakes.
Kok Jayik Valley
It is one of the main Jailoo (summer pastures) in the south of Issyk-Kul. In spring, the valley is covered with flowers and dandelions. In summer, yurts are set up here and cattle are grazed. Local shepherds always offer horseback riding.
Skazka Canyon
In other words, Fairy Tale Canyon. The rocks here have taken on a variety of forms. Shaped by the wind over centuries, they shimmer with color. This place inspires awe and is one of Kyrgyzstan's natural treasures.
Jeti-Oguz – Seven Bulls
There is a legend associated with this complex of blood-red rocks: a long time ago, a Kyrgyz Khan went to a wise man to ask for advice on how to take revenge on his rival, who had seduced his wife. The wise man advised him to kill his wife and give her to his rival. If he was to have her, she had to be dead. The Khan did so, and seven bulls were slaughtered at the ceremony. The blood spurting from the young wife's heart flowed down the ravine along with the blood of the slaughtered bulls. The bulls turned into rocks.
Koczkor
It is a large village, ideal for a quick stop before exploring the surrounding natural beauty. Koczkor is one of the best places to discover the modern nomadic lifestyle. In spring, the nearby valleys burst into color and colorful butterflies flutter above the flower-covered meadows. In the distance, you can see herds of sheep and horses, all of which makes your heart beat faster. The place is also famous for the production of shyrdak, a colorful felt carpet. You can find them in every Kyrgyz home. Shyrdak was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012.
Tosor Pass
The Tosor Pass is located at a considerable altitude, approximately 3,893 meters (12,772 feet) above sea level. It is known for its difficult terrain and picturesque beauty. The area around the pass offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and glaciers.
Song Kul Lake
Lake Song Kul (sometimes also called Son Kul) is one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Kyrgyzstan. It is located at an altitude of approximately 3,016 meters above sea level. Lake Song Kul is one of the most important and cleanest lakes in Kyrgyzstan.
Sary Chelek
Sary Chelek is a national nature reserve and a group of lakes in western Kyrgyzstan. The largest of the lakes has crystal clear water and a beautiful turquoise color. It is an ideal place for swimming, fishing, and relaxing in nature.
